Culture, migration and women’s art in dialogue
Cultura, migración y arte femenino en diálogo
During October 2025, the theatre at Errota Kultur Etxea in Abadiño hosted Re-encontremos-nos, a series of presentations introducing the work of four migrant women artists.
Initiated by the Abadiño Town Council and the Txiruli Cultural Association, the project promotes equal opportunities, inclusion and the recognition of migrant women’s voices. It arose from the need to make their artistic work visible after migration and from their desire to keep their connection to their creative identity alive.
The programme brought art out of the private sphere and closer to the local community, creating a meeting place that encouraged cultural exchange, mutual recognition and an appreciation of diversity.
Audiences explored four disciplines: immersive installation, short film, oral storytelling and solo theatre. Each presentation was followed by an open conversation with the artist.
Durante el mes de octubre de 2025, el teatro de Errota Kultur Etxea en Abadiño fue escenario de Re-encontremos-nos, un ciclo de presentaciones que invitó a conocer la obra de cuatro mujeres artistas migradas.
La iniciativa, impulsada por el Ayuntamiento de Abadiño y la Asociación Cultural Txiruli, promueve la igualdad de oportunidades, la inclusión y la puesta en valor de las voces femeninas migrantes. Nace como respuesta a la necesidad de visibilizar sus trabajos artísticos tras el proceso migratorio, motivadas por mantener vivo el vínculo con su identidad creadora.
La muestra propone sacar el arte del ámbito privado y acercarlo a la comunidad local, generando un espacio de encuentro que fomente el intercambio cultural, el reconocimiento mutuo y la valoración de la diversidad.
El público pudo explorar cuatro disciplinas: instalación inmersiva, cortometrajes, narración oral y obra escénica unipersonal. El ciclo promovió además un espacio de diálogo abierto con cada artista al finalizar sus presentaciones.
